The downloadable version comes with one of two annual licenses:
- a single account multi-user version
- a multiple account, multiple user version.
- This tools seems overly simplistic. I need more. Don’t I?
-
The vast majority of QA and Test Case Management tools were built years ago to support monolithic software and product releases. In this model, test plans were built from scratch with each new version of a product.
More modern product development processes calls for a more iterative and incremental approach to product development, in which companies achieve greater flexibility and market adaptability by having smaller and shorter release cycles.
However, few tools are optimized to support an agile product development model. Until now.
Test Run was built to stream line the testing process by
- eliminating overly complex test case entry forms
- making it incredibly easy to construct a test plan
- simplifying the process of fine tuning plans
- producing valuable and informational reports to track progress and diagnose test case coverage
- How many users does Test Run support?

A Test Run trial is limited to one user per account. All other versions of Test Run support an unlimited number of users. There is no need to worry about “purchasing seats” as your organization grows or variable license costs based upon the number of people within your company.

Test Run Online cannot be customized.
- Can I create custom fields for my test cases in Test Run?
-
Many users ask, “can I add this field or that field to a test case?” Test Run was designed around a very simple, but extensible schema. The schema is extended, however, not by adding columns to a database and fields to all of the forms, schemas are extended simply by using more labels, or “tags.”
For example, a common request is for Test Run to support a functional requirement ID that is correlated to an internal reference number of some kind. Yes, this could be an additional field, but why not simply develop a tagging convention where by tags are used to associate test cases with functional requirements? Simply add the tag “FR-2482” to a test case and presto, you have a new way of grouping, searching and finding test cases based upon a feature requirement.

Test Run allows users to import and export data from your account freely. This mechanism allows users to preserve all of your test cases.
